Second, casting sand, from the head, in the coolant system is normal once the bike has heat cycled a few times. This is a good reason to flush the system after the first few thousand miles.

Heres how you do it. Take out fuel pump. Once that is out you will see the sensor to the right as you look at the bottom of the tank. if you use a small mirror, you see a white lever. Push that lever towards the top of the tank and at the same time, push the assembly towards the top of the tank. Took me a couple of tries and finally got it out.

Itseems to stutter, almost like it is running on 2 cylinders, MPG readings from the cluster plummet. 1 If you removed the stepper you'd get a CEL light. 2. You'd most probably need a fast idle lever and cable (similar to a choke control) 3 You'd need to set the idle speed with the engine warm, cold idle speed would then be too low ie engine doesn't start (necessitating 2 above).
